bought boots for hiking & work- home care-hospice nurse that puts in some rural areas to see clients... I was impressed that these boots were comfortable right out of the box - took a 3 + miles hike without any hotspots, slipping within the boot, or any blisters. while these boots are bit heavier than some of my other boots, the comfort, protection, & stability have moved this boot into my favorites... walked through heavily dewed grass and feet stayed dry.... wear 8.5 in women's trail runners & boots, bought a size 7 as recommended and feel boot is true to size.. would highly recommendThese are very comfortable but they are not waterproof in any way, shape or form. If you want to spend your hike dodging all of the puddles and turning back at the site of a small stream, then these boots are for you! I walked through a puddle and took on ICY cold water. Had to turn back. Thanks Merrell. I've had the boots for 5 months, barely used.I absolutely love these boots. I work on a roof and compared to other boots these things are so durable and so comfortable!!!!! Yes the boots are hot but there boots, if you want a shoe that doesn’t make your feet sweat then wear flip flops. These boots provide great support for your feet and I would have gone through 4 to 6 pairs of boots this year alone if it wasn’t for these boots! The water resistant coating does get worn off but there are remedies to that like buying a spray and cleaner for your boots. No boot will last forever but these boots will for sure last for years. A must buy if your not afraid of your feet getting a little sweaty like any other shoe can do!!!! I will swear by these boots for as long as they sell them and anyone who doesn’t is buying these boots for what there are meant to deal with.
