I bought these for a trip to Europe with lots of rain in the forecast. The shoes worked great walking everywhere in puddles and rainstorms - kept my feet very dry. And they are comfortable right away — wore them without any break-in period and didn’t have any trouble. Not necessarily soft, but padded and comfortable - they did what I needed them to do.These shoes fit well, are waterproof and comfortable. I put them right on and hiked all around Austria with no problems.I just finished a 9 mile powerwalk to break them in and my walking shoes delivered the goods. They are light and rugged enough for any trail walking and no pinching or award fit, they feel great.Columbia brand is the quality you want and no need to overspend and spend more on hiking shoes. We bought these for my son who details cars. He says they are great and do not allow water to get in. He is planning on getting another pair after these wear out.The shoe is very comfortable but my feet got wet the 1st time walking though dew.Oedered a 13 wide first, my size in most other brands. Too small so I returned them for 14 wide. The box says 14wide but the tongue of the shoe only says 14. If it is a “wide” shoe then I wonder what a regular fit shoe is. In the end 14 wide is not wide enough for my 13 wide feet. Returning again to try another brand.Like other reviews, had to order one complete size larger to fit properly. Feel very comfortable but haven't had a chance to really try them out yet.We did not realize how small Columbian ran.Bought these for walking and just chucking on when you might get a bit mucky etc. they are very comfy however, should it rain and you happen to be on grass be prepared for very wet feet.If they were actually “waterproof” like it even says in the heel they’d have probably got a solid four stars, maybe even a five. But just simply doesn’t do what it says on the tin.Unless you know you won’t wear them when it rains I’d avoid. So basically anyone in the UK.Shame really but in a nutshell a pair of comfy teabagsThought would leave a review as not many on here.Out of the box these look quite a smart shoe. I wanted something that was more of a trainer with the waterproofing, these seemed to fit the bill.I’ve been wearing about a week and have found to be a sturdy and lightweight feel. They are not exactly trainer fit comfy, but I do have a slight under pronation so I expect they will eventually wear into my fit. That said, they are not uncomfortable and I expect they will be fine over long distances. Not really tested the waterproofing, I’ve been over wet grass etc but not a full downpour, so far have kept my feet dry.The toe box is a relatively wide fit compared to a normal trainer. I ordered a size up and there is plenty of room for big socks. Plus since my intention is doing some distance I wanted the room in the shoe for feet to expand. Therefore I would conclude fit as expected. These shoes are supremely comfortable & seemed to be waterproof as advertised. I loved walking in them while they were good. They were delivered on August 27th and by the 1st October they had developed a hole where the toe bend is. These have only been used lightly on a daily dog walk on flat footpaths.Manufacturer says return to vendor (correctly) but I was just out of the 30 day return window. As these are faulty though Amazon have agreed to a return and a full refund.Columbia...if you read this please please sort this weak point out and I would be happy to buy another pair. For now though 1 star only as I'm sure anyone would agree, 5 week lifespan is unacceptableI will admit i walked quite a lot with this shoes, but never on crazy terrains, really disappointed.Started falling apart and holes appeared on each sides. On Columbia website says that under 1 year Amazon should refund or replace and just give you the option to go the Columbia website pingponging the blameTearing at same place on each shoe near toes. Not had them long and only really use them for everyday use and dog walks. Really comfortable though.
