These shoes are very comfortable right out of the box. Some of the reviews said that the size ran small, I did not find that to be true, a size 9 is what I usually wear and it was these are also. The only reason for a star less is the color, nothing like the picture. Since these are for hiking and not everyday wear it was not enough to send them back, although a bit disappointing. I did the try before you buy in 2 other colors that were also nothing like the picture, just FYI.
