SODO Men's Waterproof Windproof Jacket - Lightweight Raincoat for Outdoor Hiking, Camping & Travel - Repel Black Windbreaker Coat

I was excited to get this jacket as I am a big SODO fan. But I ran into the same issues I've had with other SODO products. 1. Sizing. This jacket runs super small and is cut for a short torso and short arms. A continued problem with SODO products where one style of shirt will run true to size but the next will run very small. SODO .. please think about how this will be layered. Make it bigger. Hate to say it but lulu lemon gets it when it comes to athletic fit. SODO does not.2. Logo durability. I have several sodo shirts where the SODO logo is already peeling off after one wash. Reflective strips also look iffy. Look at Nike, arc'teryx or Lulu to understand how this should work or just embroider like so many high end mountaineering brands.What do I like? The magnetic reflective pocket covers that flip are brilliant. I have never seen those before. Overall build quality is great and SODO uses amazing fabrics. Super heavy/plush.This SODO Black Repel Waterproof Jacket is great. It is attractive and fashionable. It is black with the SODO logo on the top/front shoulder. I received this in an XL, but to be honest, it fits a little small. My son is 6’3, but extremely thin. I thought the XL was going to be too big, but it fit more like a large. Since he has long arms, it was perfect. And since it is an athletic cut and he is slim, it fits well across the chest. You can also make some adjustments with the cord along the bottom. There is a reflective strip behind the neck and along the outside of the pockets. There is a zipper along the front of the jacket and on the front pockets. There is an inside/zip pocket that you can keep your ID or keys in. This jacket provides some warmth. We live in the South and so far have had a few cool mornings, in the 40’s, and my son says that this is perfect for wearing to school. It is lightweight so he doesn’t have to work about being carrying around a heavy jacket all day, especially since now lockers are optional. The jacket is also lightweight enough that if you wanted to work out in it, meaning a light jog, you could. However, I want to bring a couple of things to your attention. (1) There are magnets along the sleeves (to adjust) and on the pockets (to keep them closed). But beware, the magnets slide or may move as the day progresses. (2) This jacket has a hood that can’t be removed. I think it would be better if it could be removed, but that in and of itself isn’t a deal breaker. (3) This jacket is not lined, but is made of a nice waterproof fabric. So you can wear anything from a t-shirt to a thin long sleeve shirt. And finally (4) be careful when you order this jacket because it runs a little small. I would say if you are a true large, order the XL. If you are a true M, order the L. In conclusion, all things considered, I give this jacket 4 stars.The boy will love this waterproof jacket. It meets his criteria. Black, hooded. He will love that it is stink proof and that the pockets and cuffs are magnetic. The less exertion he has to make, the better. He will like the zipper and how well made this jacket is. He will be able to hid in a crowd, which is what he likes. The hoodie has an extra nice feature - a visor. In the back, you have the flap that covers mesh to cool you down if you need it. Nice jacket but make sure you check the sizing. It is made of 100% polyester. Machine wash cold with darks only and low tumble dry.This is a REALLY nice looking jacket, super sophisticated, with great attention to detail in the zippers, hood, etc. The problem is that it's not really quite waterproof. If it's pouring rain and you go outside, this will absolutely soak through. It's okay for light rain and for cooler temperatures, but if you're looking for something that will actually keep you dry, I'd look elsewhere.This is a nicely designed and well appointed jacket with several fine details to it. But it runs very small. The size large that I was very fortunate to receive for review purposes fits about the same as a smallish size medium by other jacket manufacturers. The jacket has several magnetized closures, including the cuffs on the sleeves which you can adjust as very loose or very tight, there is no in-between sizing. The flaps on the side pockets are magnetized and if you flip them forward then each of them has a reflective, vertical stripe on the forward side. There is a bit of a beak on the front of the hood and there is an inner sleeve in the sleeves. Overall, the jacket is very form fitting and sleek looking. It seems to be designed to be worn only with a t-shirt or other thin undergarment under it, however, as the sizing does run really small.This is a nice jacket and it does repel water. It's very form fitting and tight across the shoulders on a standard size xl guy. I would go up one size if buying. The seams are sewed tightly and the construction is excellent. We lived in south Korea for 3 years and my husband has a 20 year old jacket he bought there he is still wearing. In my experience they make great clothes. This jacket should last awhile, just be aware it runs small.The double zipper can also take a bit to figure out and be annoying until you get used to it.made in Korea and pretty heavy. It has a hood brim also and has flaps for the zippers. It definitely runs small and short as well so be aware.This jacket is simply awful. The arms are ridiculously tight and isn't made for a man who has any muscle whatsoever. If you're super skinny with no muscle, you may like this. But don't waste your money if you have muscle.
